The year was 1920 and newly elected Warren Harding was inheriting a mess from predecessor Woodrow Wilson. A country in depression with record unemployment, massive debt, and a bloated and inefficient federal government. Less than two years later the crisis was over and the roaring 20’s underway without the help of a single government stimulus package or tax increase.
