John Conyers (D-Mich), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is currently the second-longest serving incumbent member of the House (just after fellow Democrat from Michigan, John Dingell) and the fourth-longest incumbent member of the entire Congress by length of service (after Robert Byrd, John Dingell, and Daniel Inouye).

Conyers spoke at a National Press Club luncheon and pondered the question of reading bills.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”  Then don't vote on it! YOU ARE A LAWYER for God's sake!

Amongst other garbage, Conyers also proposed House Resolution 288, which condemns “religious intolerance” but emphasizes on Islam as needing special protection from acts of violence and intolerance and House Resolution 40, which commissions a study for reparation proposals for African-Americans. I don't know about you, but I had nothing to do with slavery and neither did any immigrant that came to this country after slavery was abolished. Reparations have already been paid with the blood of Americans that fought for freedom during the civil war. End of story.

This is just one of the many incompetent leaders that were voted into office. Vote them the HELL out, America!

Now let's move on to Monica Conyers, his wife. According to court documents, in late 2007, Mrs. Conyers, the chairwoman of the Detroit City Council, twice accepted envelopes filled with cash, once in the parking lot of a Detroit McDonalds.
